Sushi Cat, via @jayisgames
I didn’t really read the description of this game before I clicked on it, all I saw was “cute” and “pachinko” - which, if you aren’t familiar with that particular term, please recall, “One of the best things on “The Price is Right” was the game Plinko, a strange game that involved dropping large tokens down a field of pegs, watching them bounce around and fall into areas at the bottom that involved money.”
I love plinko/pachinko (I lost hours and hours to Peggle), so I figured it would be somewhat entertaining to me. I didn’t expect to find the following:
- Cutest load screen ever. Round jiggly cat eating cute sushi.
- The sushi has EYES. Cute!
- The music is great (I just wish there were more of it, it gets a little repetitive.)
- An adorable, round, blorbally cat that gets fatter the more sushi it eats!
- Really cute, detailed artwork.
- Creative, challenging boards (I’m a board-clearer type of person…)
- Appropriately gratuitous use of the terms: nom, num, burp, yum, om, mmm.
- A gradient of cat sizes (the largest I got was “Enormous,” not sure if there is something bigger)
- When the cat gets to the bottom of the board, it can fall into 5 different buckets. After it falls in, sushi shoots up from the bucket (well in a cute way), as if the cat was barfing it up. Just like a real cat.
- If the cat doesn’t eat any sushi, when it falls in the bucket, it says “Meow.” Just like a real cat.
- The ending is super weird.
I love it.
